School Talks...
As part of the national curriculums Sc2 science module - a statutory part of the syllabus - an AnimalMan Ltd. lecture is a wonderful way of supporting & enhancing your classroom teaching.
With a live animal lecture, the children observe and handle animals behaving naturally and are led through many of the animal phylum's or classes.
The lecture is structured to follow a progressive journey starting with some of the oldest animals on earth - invertebrates - then the introduction of amphibians, reptiles, mammals
& birds to bring us to where we are today.
In addition, each lecture also addresses the key stage curriculum - life processes, variation and classification & living things in their environment - by using the animals shown as part of a discussion point.
Obviously, such a live encounter brings much excitement and amusement to the students and teachers and is fondly remembered as one of the highlights of the academic year.

The students inspect and handle many arthropods ranging from millipedes and centipedes, spiders and scorpions, cockroaches, beetles and other insects. Stuart also includes other examples including giant snails, worms and crabs. In addition, the students are able to handle and inspect fossils. Stuart uses simple but effective practical tools to show how the arthropods leg is jointed and the assembly of the exoskeleton to enable the children to learn. Such a lecture stimulates children to look more closely at the world around them as well as helping their understanding of such a complex phylum as well as dove-tailing with your teaching. An ideal class room experience for smaller groups.
